Bill Austin holds a BSEE degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. His experience includes 7 years with the U. S. Navy at Crane NWSC as project manager on the Trident Missile Fire Control System. The papers have covered topics varying from throttle position sensor development to the service and support of electronics for heavy-duty vehicles. Bill Austin's involvement includes serving the past eight years as chairman and session organizer for SAE conferences which focused on system engineering and its use within the heavy-duty vehicle industry. He currently is chairman of the powertrain organizing committee.
In January 1996, Bill launched his own company, Bill Austin & Associates, Inc., specializing in system engineering, system architecture, and project management.
